Statement information

This statement consists of two sections the first section is to explain to you the end user what SORBS will do with information you provide. This information is not a statement of law, it is an explaination in language that non-lawyers should be able to read and understate.

The second section is the privacy statement supplied by lawyers who specialise in privacy for the purposes of a statement in law. If you have any questions or concerns about SORBS privacy you should take the lawyer provided statement to a competent lawyer to have it explained to you.


Personal Information

There are two distinct type of users of the SORBS websites.
  • Those who have logged in or are requesting some form of communication.
  • Those just browsing the information across the site.
The following sections deal specifically with what data is collected and what it is used for.

Personal data in both cases will not be given out or sold to a third party except for the following:
  • Where a party is threatening or commencing legal action of any type, and for any reason.
  • Where a party is threatening or committing an illegal act under the laws of the entities residence or the laws of where the information was recorded. This includes but is not limited to passing information to government agencies as well as law enforcement agencies.
  • Where the information is needed in helping deal with a request by the person submitting the information.
  • Where explicit permission has been given to forward such details.
Note: SORBS nor it's parent companies will sell your data to a third party.

General Browsing and Browsers
A session cooked is set, and your IP address is recorded to protect our systems from abuse. Identifiable information except for the IP address is not collected by parties browsing the SORBS websites.

External third parties such as Google Inc. who have links and adverts on the SORBS website may have their own Privacy Policy.

Entities requesting database information, support or extended services
For ease of use, and a higher quality of information presented the SORBS websites set a Session Cookie. This cookie will have no user identifiable information stored in it. The cookie is set when a user visits the SORBS website and user information is associated with it when a user requests to either:
  • Get help/support.
  • Login.
  • Setup an account.
  • Lookup information in the SORBS database.
  • Use SORBS extended services. (eg. DNS or email hosting)
This cookie is needed to track user authentication and protect the SORBS servers from undesirable people. Personal information relating to the listed services is stored as a reference from the cookie and is used internally on the SORBS servers. This information will not be disclosed to any entity not part of the SORBS group of companies.

Changes to the Policy
Note: This Privacy Policy will change from time to time. We expect most such changes to be minor, but there may be changes that are more significant. Regardless, we will post those changes on this page and, if the changes are significant, we will also provide a more prominent notice. Each version will be noted at the bottom of this page.
